What should I bid?
There is a minimum bid which you must meet for your ad to be considered for rotation. Your bid determines the frequency and priority your ad is given against the other ads in queue. If your ad is not receiving the number of impressions you'd hoped for then you may try increasing your bid to achieve more impressions. You can raise and lower your bid as many times as you wish. Adjustments are made to your account every 15 minutes.
How can I achieve a higher click through rate?
Ads which resemble news headlines receive a higher click through rate (CTR) than traditional ads. Your headlines should get to the point quickly while clearly communicating that there is something more to be gained by clicking. Try creating several variations of your ad and then use the reporting functionality to determine which ad version received the higher click through rate.
Am I guaranteed to reach my daily budget?
The number of impressions your advertisement receives is dependent on a number of factors, including your minimum bid and the number of other bidders. As such, your advertisement is not guaranteed to spend your daily budget on each day. The daily budget can only be guaranteed that you will not spend more then you have allotted in the daily budget.
What does it mean when my Ad is "Under Review"?
Each ad submitted into the system must be reviewed to ensure adherence to editorial polices. When an ad shows as "Under Review" it indicates our editors are in the process of reviewing the ad to determine if the ad can be displayed. If the Ad is determined to be unacceptable, you shall receive an email notification to the email address listed in your account informing you of this.
Can I add graphical ads instead of the template text format?
In this self serve system, only NewsBullets style ads can be used as creative. However if you wish to use traditional IAB type display ads, please email your contact information and request to: ibadops(at)industrybrains(dot)com to have a support person help you with your request.
What does retargeting across your network mean?
Retargeting is a popular feature which enables us to feature your ad to our unique group of users while those same users are visiting other popular websites. Retargeting is now a popular method of ensuring your ads stay in front of our site's unique users by displaying your ad to our users on premium Websites within the IndustryBrains Premium Publisher Network. So your ad is displayed the same way, the target audience remains this site's users and you still receive all the reporting in the same page within this interface. The only difference is that when an ad is retargeted, we display your same ad to our users on those other premium websites within the IndustryBrains Premium Publisher network. We highly recommend this option as it has proven to deliver a higher ROI over limiting your ads to this site alone.
Where will my ads appear?
Your ads will appear in prominent positions on content pages throughout this site. If you have chosen the retargeting option then your ads shall also be displayed to this site's users on premium Websites within the IndustryBrains Premium Publisher Network (see what does retargeting across the network mean?)
What is a CPM or cost per thousand impressions mean?
With any CPM advertisement, you will pay a set cost each time your ad is displayed. For example, if you bid a $5.00 CPM, you will pay $5.00 for every 1,000 times your ad is displayed. You can also divide the bid price by 1000 to get the cost per view. The cost per view when you bid a $5.00 CPM is a half of cent each time your ad is displayed on a page.
Where can I get images for my ads?
We require all advertisers to have the legal right to use the images they upload. You can acquire images on websites such as www.istockphoto.com and www.corbis.com
